Tip Tuesday: Using your Camera Flash for Alerts

Set Your Camera Flash For Alerts

There are so many ways to custimize your iphone it will make your head spin! While setting this up you can play around with other features like :
- Setting up the triple click if your home key
- Custom Vibrations
-Lareg Text
- Voice Over

To get Started go to Settings>General> Accessibility and scroll down...
That flash on the back of your phone can also be used for a notifying beacon, similar to the LED on most BlackBerry phones. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility and turn on the slider for LED Flash for Alerts, and the next time something comes in, the LED will flash accordingly. Would be nice too when your phone is on silent and you are looking for it by calling it!

Weekend Recap!

Sooo behind on the ole blog.. just like everything else these days! We have had some packed out weekends of fun lately! Brother Wade & Andrea were here for a fun Titans weekend last weekend. I was a terrible host and corrected those mistakes for this weekend when Matt & Scott came to visit!  We had a fantastic weekend!

Friday we did some shopping. Saturday we had a huge brunch and watched the Auburn Game! .
These are called "Birds Nests" and the recipe is HERE. However I added Tony Chachers to mine and  will next time throw in some grilled onions and peppers.
The gist is a base of hashbrowns mixed with cheese and baked egg with bacon on top.
He opted for yogurt, then painted his body with it!

Saturday night we went to see Kelly Clarkston (10th row) and she was more amazing that I have EVER given her credit for. That girl can SING and she was funny and genuine on stage. She said she wants to do some country and I bet her next album will be country and will be awesome!

I also got some new glasses recently because Fenn broke my other ones, and turns out.. my prescription had changed quite a bit. It's like I can see in color again with my new specs!

and we also discovered that Fenn knows his ABCs this weekend which was pretty exciting. He is very tricky about letting us know such things!
Sunday afternoon I had a committee meeting for our neighborhood Fall Block Party which I am super pumped about! Its gonna be awesome with such things as a Glow -in The - Dark Treat hunt!
All and all it was a great weekend with great friends, and good prep for a busy work week!

and just for a laugh:

iPhone 5 : The Summary

I am sure everyone has seen the iPhone 5 announcement now. If you have not you can go HERE to watch the Key Note!

If you would like to see a comparison chart of the update features compared to the 4 or 4s you can see the update is minimal. Go HERE to review that.

The most important parts of the update ( IMO) :
- Bigger screen
- New Look
- new dock connector ( Grrrrr)
- more icons on the home screen
- faster chip/service
- new operating system
- thinner and lighter
- updates to the camera

It is not a super exciting update, but we will still be upgrading because that is what we do. I would consider us power users of the iphone so we upgrade each year and sell our old models. If you wait even 1 year to upgrade your old phone almost becomes obsolete so... that's my system!  This year I will probably use Gazelle.com to sell our old phones because its easier and the prices are GREAT.

If you would like to check and see if you are eligible for the new iPhone ( and you are an AT&T customer) you can dial (not text, dial) : *639# from your iphone like this:

As far as I can tell, there are no cases out for the new phone yet! When I see some I will let you guys know!

Tip Tuesday: New iPhone Announcement

Tip Tuesday is a day late! Sorry for that! Just wanted to make everyone aware that today is a big announcement from Apple , which we all assume is for the new iPhone and we definitely know it is for a new software update to the iphone/ipad os.

Notice how the reflection of that 12 is actually a 5?

If you want to follow along with the actual event reading announcements live you can do so by going to :

and watching the live feed!

Happy iPhone Announcement day!

PS I will have a 4 and a 4s to sell after the new ones come out if anyone is interested!

Fenn's 2 Year Old Check Up/Stats

Here is my little buddy in his new house and in his new room! He insisted on wearing a dirty shirt and posing with ketchup all over his mouth for these pictures. It occured to me to battle it out and then I thought maybe it would be better to capture his little stubborn personality just the way it is! ha
He is reading me a book here. He still is not talking much or as well as his peers, but has made lots of progress lately with the type of words he is saying or trying to say and just in general not being so silent.

We were about 1.5 months late getting his check up because our Pedi is so popular and our schedule has been jam packed! He did not enjoy any of the check up part!

Red faced and big tears after all that trauma

He had his eyes checked today too which was really cool and they said his vision is perfect! Thankful for that since E and I both wear glasses. I am sure they will be in his future at some point.
Head Circumference: 22.52"
Weight : 35.06 lbs.  97.43%
(He had lost a few pounds in the past week with his sickness because he would barely eat.)
Height : 36"  or more. He was longer than the table and not co-operative!  88.14%
BMI: 19.02  93.89%

Other Random Info:
- Goes to MDO twice a week now
- Sleeps from 7pm-6:30 am every night
- Naps once a day at noon usually
- Enjoys trains and cars and trucks these days
- still love puzzles and playing outside a TON.
- Favorite cartoons for now are Dora and Super Why
- Likes to run everywhere , climb everything and general mischief.

Auburn University Children's Book!

I have been meaning to write a post lately about all of our talented and accomplished friends!  Sometimes when I stop to think about it, I am amazed at all the neat people we know..and so proud of them!
A fellow graduate of Auburn University,  Mave and her sister Erin have written and published a beautiful children's book about Toomer's Corner trees and the tradition of rolling them, and how that is a dying tradition with the poisoning of  the trees.
I am so excited to have a way to read to my boy about his mommy and daddy's beautiful college and let him always know what a wonderful place Auburn is and what it was like when we were there.

I have no doubt of what a huge success this book will be with how awesome it is, but I do hope all my Auburn peeps spread the word and support a fellow grad!
You can visit their website and order the book HERE

Please tweet and facebook about the book if you are an Auburn Lover!
