So for now.. just a few random updates:
I have been having a lot of back pain lately. I went to the doctor to make sure I had not injured myself and it was just strain from the boy. Not sure what his current weight is but I am guessing about 40lbs. Anyway, at a birthday party this chick mentions to me that she wears a chain of amber around her waist for back pain and that it had really helped her. They are about $35 online ( same as a doctor co-pay) so I figured what the heck. I dig natural remedies and all so I ordered one. I have not had it long enough to give a full report, but long enough to have had menstrual back pain ( which normally dibilitates me for at least one full day) and I have not had any problems. I did feel it coming on and took advil once but I always do that so I am shocked that I have been able to avoid my usual pain and think it must be from the amber chain. I only take it off when I shower. I will report back after another month or so. As of now, I am a FAN. If this measly $35 can help me with this back pain that I deal with I will get on a huge soap box and scream it to the world!
I have been reading this book called "Kisses from Katie" which is so interesting for several reasons :
She is from Brentwood, TN,
She is a missionary in Africa, which I have always had a secret desire to do/be.
She speaks a lot about the cultures down there which is fascinating
It really helps soften your heart towards many things like AIDS, world hunger etc.
She can teach you a lot about your relationship with Jesus.
It is one of those, life changing books, because it changes your heart. I have really enjoyed reading it.
I am in production on 2 cases right now for my business! The iLatch and the iKid! These are samples from the final design and I am SO glad to FINALLY be here. To be done, to have an AWESOME product that I took my time on ( 1 year) and did not compromise on the design. It really is beautiful and awesome! I am VERY proud of it and excited to share it with other parents!
This move has been such an emotional roller coaster and so bitter sweet! Don't get me wrong I am very thankful for how it all went down and how quickly and all, but since it was so unexpected, I find myself with all sorts of anxiety about it all. I have been packing as much as I can lately to try and subside that anxious feeling. I am so ready to just get moved in!
I am obsessed with these sweet potatoe fries lately. They are similar to the ones served at 6th and Pine in Nordstrom, but mine are baked instead of fried.
- Chili Powder
- garlic powder
- lime zest from 1 lime
- oil ( i used olive oil)
- peeled and sliced sweet potatoes
Use about 2 tablespoons of oil and then as much spice as you like and some chopped cilantro. Peel and cut up a few sweet potatoes and toss them in the mixture above and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
and if you really wanna step up your game, make some dipping sauce:
- Sour Cream
- Lime Juice (fresh)
- Chopped Cilantro
Mix it together to your liking, and let it sit in fridge for a few hours to bring it to the full flavor.
