Playroom Progress

Here is a quick before shot of the room as I was packing away everything..

and a quick after shot once I have moved everything playroom-ish into it. I have a lot of details to attend to but just wanted to give a sneak peek!
and this nook/desk area I am gonna make my mom corner so that I have a place to keep all our bills/mail and my scrapbooking items.
The room desperately needs curtains! I want to skirt that built in desk to hide the clutter and make a valance for that window. Then I want to hang curtains on the other wall and cover the window as well as the door. ( door goes to a balcony that we never use)

Like this:
Here are some rooms I like for inspiration. I like that they use bright colors but dont look too busy and they have very matchy furniture without looking too matchy.
And here are some curtains and fabrics I like :

I wish I could find some fabric that used orange as an accent color! I also am confused about if I use a fun print will it make the room look too busy because of the playmat.. thoughts?

also have any of you  every painted plastic and had it work out well? I want to spray paint the bins of that toy organizer.

Wow! That looks incredible! I would suggest a plain color curtain to keep it chill in there. I bet you can spray paint those tubs!!!

They make spray paint for plastics and they work very well. Solid or the curtain.

The roll tider in me is loving those elephants! But, I actually prefer the first fabric with the hippos, that is way cute. Looks great!

I would have to totally agree with Sarah about the elephants as I thought the same thing (Roll Tide!), but something tells me that isn't why you chose it! :) I think you could totally add some orange accents, like maybe on a little table for Fenn. He's one lucky little guy. Just a thought:

If you like the green/brown fabrics better, like I do, you could always add an orange accent like a border around the curtains. This would look especially good if you used your fun fabric as a topper with a trim and then found a coordinating brown, orange, green, and white stripe fabric for panels. Sorry, the wannabe interior designer in me is having way too much fun with this!

I LOVE that rug, and the fact that you've got such a good space for all the toys. The first set of curtains are pretty cute .... though I'm not sure which one my fave is. It would be fun to make some floor pillows out of some of the peace sign fabrics!
