The Beginnings of a Playroom.....

We have been discussing taking our house off the market for a few months because it has been on since Feb 1st, and we do not want to move so badly that we will reduce the price of our house any more. It is really hard to show a house with frequent travels, a baby with toys everywhere and doggles and such.  I am dying for a playroom to store all this junk beautiful kid stuff in and have resolved to use one of our guest bedrooms just for that. It is not ideal since it is upstairs and all, and I hated to giving up a guest bedroom, but the reality is we have a baby every day, and we only have enough guests for 2 guest bedrooms every so often so it just makes sense.  Once I got past the part of it being upstairs I got really excited!

Say Goodbye to the sports room. This was the only room in this house I have done absolutely ZERO with, other than fill it with random sports nick knacks from Titans, Auburn & Predators.
I spent all my free (nap) time today clearing out all of the stuff and furniture, then sweeping and mopping and getting a clean canvas.
My color scheme is based around peebs beloved playmat. I LOVE this thing. Pistachio and Brown. I luckily found 2 more packs of this at my discount store this week! Much cheaper than buying a rug, and MUCH easier to clean.  I am now scouring Craig's list for a mini table and chairs that I can paint and put in here. I also am on the look out for a cute fabric for curtains. Those will be my splurge item because curtains can really make a room!

and I would like some sort of kiddy book shelf like this:

and since I am not painting I want some fun artwork or wall decals. I have one set of wall decals from my discount store that cost me 35 cents! They have bins of stuff that is all out of packages and jumbled and I always dig in those and let them name me a price and if its a good one I will keep them. That day they also sold me 2 kid proof electrical outlets for 35 cents as well.

and I plan to find an extra camera for my video monitor in my discount store and put it in there as well so if I have to run downstairs for a cup of coffee etc I can still keep my eye on him!
Stay tuned! I could barely sleep last night I was so excited about working on this room, and my bubbies is off today so he can help me with the heavy lifting! I shall post some progress pictures tonight!

Let me know if you guys have seen any cute fabric that would work for curtains! Thanks

I'm sure it's going to look awesome! We're moving into a house pretty soon that has an extra room that I'm going to make into a playroom. Praying I can turn it into as cute a room as I see in my head!

I so love the apples! I'm very much into cutesy, retro fabrics right now. I was thinking the other day that owls would be cute, as I'm mildly obsessed with owl fabric, and then I saw your Kappa Kappa Gamma post (I love Lily, BTW!), so maybe owls would be cute. Like this one:

Happy decorating! --Amy
