Grocery Shopping & Cart Covers

I would just like to point out to you all what a magnificent accomplishment it is when babies can sit up. You may find yourself thinking "Big deal" which would be my normal response.. until you realize that sitting up brings about new freedoms! Now that peebles can sit up, he can ride in shopping carts! This makes running errands MUCH easier.
Initially I thought I would just put him right in one,  then we suffered that big bad terrible cold and I thought better of that stupid idea. Shopping carts are one of the grossest things EVER. If you think its a pain to put a shopping cart cover on, then just wait till you take care of a sad, sick, little baby for a week! Lesson Learned.

Anyway, at my consignment sale last week I bought an Eddie Bauer shopping cart cover for $3. It has seen alot of days, but I didn't care since it still functions perfectly and I could just throw it in the wash on a sanitary cycle.
This thing is totally AWESOME. Not only does it cover up the nasty shopping cart ( it has elastic edges so it will stay put), but it also has loops where you can add your own toys, and a zipper compartment for your phone/wallet etc. I just keep this one in my car with some toys attached to keep it easy. It also has some nice little chest straps to hold him in place. It will also work on public high chairs.

Today was peebs first trip to the grocery and let me tell ya, he had a LARGE time. Between all the things to look at, and all the friends he made , you would have thought I had taken him to the circus! Never mind the fact that we both wore our jammers to the grocery! It was cold and yucky here and that is just how we roll!

I love this post. I ventured out to Target with Little C in the shopping cart for the first time last week and used my 2 piece shopping cart cover and boy was it a hassle. I cant wait to do some research ont his one you posted. Looks pretty perfect.

Good call on the cart cover LCG. I read something a while back that a random study was done on grocery carts across the US and they found that over 40% of them contained fecal matter. FECAL MATTER!! This is disturbing to say the least. I make it a point to wash my hands after trips to the grocery :)

I desperately need a shopping cart cover. I think I'll look for a used one too.
