My Favorite Baby Clothes...

I have the strangest baby taste I guess, because I like simple elegant and soft baby clothes. I say it must be strange because they are SO hard to find. Below are a few of the brands that I have found to be the sweetest and softest.

Oddly Enough, Wal-mart carries an organic cotton line from Faded Glory. Their onesies and zipper sleepers are the most comfy around, and you cant beat the price. They are sold individually in stores but in layettes online :

Restoration Hardware has such cute simple baby clothes and great blankets! I love the monogram option and if you wait till they have a sale you can get some great prices. I bought PB tons of clothes from their website before he was born on sale for $3.99 each!
My other favorite brands are Pixie Lily, Magnolia Baby & Kissy Kissy. I prefer BF wear all one piece outfits, but they are getting harder and harder to find now that he is the size of a 12-18month old.

I say all this to say, you may change your mind about baby clothes once you are in the trenches. Lots of things never occurred to me before actually changing the baby so let me share:
  • Zippers are your friends. Zippers are SO easy and much faster and easier than buttons of snaps.
  • Day gowns are the best thing ever for newborns. You will change their diapers SO much and all throughout the night , trust me you will want fast and easy and comfortable.
  • When you see something cute and fancy for a baby, remember that your baby will most of the time be all scrunched up, in car seat or up against your chest when you hold them etc and that cute expensive outfit will be a waste cause nobody will ever see it, and its even hard to capture it in pictures!
  • footies are the best, unless your babe has big feets, because keeping socks on a baby is near impossible!
  • People tell you about how quickly babies grow out of clothes, and that is so true! Since BF has been alive I have regularly rotated my same favorite outfits over and over and so a TON of clothes has never been necessary ( for us anyway)
  • Consignment sales are awesome and ebay too, when you know what you are looking for!
  • It is better to plan for all those snuggly mornings at home (outfit wise) than to plan for cute public outfits. Don't under estimate the value of some snuggly jammers and clothes to wear around the house!
We are about to venture into the world of pants and appliqued shirts. I will keep you all posted on how that goes and where I find and purchase our new clothes from.
Baby Fenn's Easter shirts may or may not look something like this (in boy colors):

I could not agree with this post more! Cute, plain clothes are hard to find. Daygowns are fabulous for newborns, and also the twins got kimono style onesies as a gift from a friend that were amazing. It was so nice to have a onesie that didn't have to go over their heads.

Comfy clothes is best for baby!!! They are most comfortable and isn't that really all that matters...? (well, except for those few photo ops this mom needs...)

Only thing Ben disagrees with are the footies. He likes to eat and play with his feet so we avoid those. I don't know how you do those zippers..... I always got them stuck, snaps are easier for me. Night gowns ROCK for night time diaper changes!

I'm down with the zippers no doubt.

Such helpful information - thanks! Although, it's hard to resist the temptation to pick up those cute outifts! :) The one pieces are super cute too though. I'll be sure to pick up lots of those.

Agree wholeheartedly. When I packed up the little's baby clothes, almost all of her adorable little outfits had never been worn. Bring on the footed sleepers!!

I prefer 2 piece pjs and the softest ones I have found recently at Wal-Mart. I just always put the girls in 2 piece jammers and followed suit with Jack. Socks are hard definitely hard to keep on. I also like the organic cotton line from Wal-mart (and I love that those are PLAIN). So hard to find PLAIN clothing.

That sweet boy is a cutie!!!!
