Beaba Recipe : Avocado

I am having real trouble finding any recipes for the Beaba Online! I shall do my best to share some with you guys in case you are looking! It did not occur to me until recently that I should have bought the cookbook that was made to go with the Beaba due to critical details like the water measurements for the steamer, but I am just learning on the fly instead.

Avocado is a SUPER food for many reasons you can read all about HERE.
If you find that baby does not like the avocado you can mix it with applesauce or yogurt to make it more appealing. Peebs prefers veggies to fruits so we are all good there.

I recommend these erasable labels so that you can just erase and re-write when you wash the containers for homemade baby foods. Very Handy. (purchase those HERE)
I'm a sucker for kitchen tools and gadgets and enjoy this Avocado huller thingy.

  1. Cut Avocado in half, remove the seed and scrape out the "meat"

  •  Made as shown above is appropriate for a 4-6 mos old
        • Not recommended for freezing
        • You can use 2 drops of lemon juice to avoid browning but it is NOT recommended
        • Water can be used to thin, if necessary
        • Avocados can be mixed with rice cereal, yogurt, bananas or apple sauce!

I heard the book Super babyfood was good. I have one called baby love which has single ingredients and combo recipes. I heard the beaba cookbook had mainly combo meals. Have fun cooking! I haven't tried any real foods yet but may venture out to oatmeal next week.

You can also use the avocado seed to keep it from browning in the fridge. Just leave the seed in the blended baby food. Works like a champ. Prob will need a bigger container though.
