Cloth Diapers: Take One : Bum Genius 3.0

Look how excited my skrunkle baby is about trying out cloth diapers! I am about to start experimenting with cloth diapering, trying out different brands and trying to figure out what all is needed for this. If any of you are interested in this, I hope this is helpful!

Modeling his fat rolls and cute cloth diaper!

First up on the list is the Bum Genius 3.0. I intended to buy the AIO ( all in one) which means you just have a diaper that you wash and change like disposables, (as opposed to a outer layer that you stuff with a washable insert) but the lady told me it was AIO and it was not but I was too ignorant to know any better! I am having to figure this all out as I go, and would LOVE feedback, comments, suggestions and for ya'll to correct me if I am relaying this info wrong!

As you can see, they come in tons of colors. I really just prefer a bunch of white ones but the store where I bought mine had a slim selection.
I have used it once and my review commentary is :

  • Easy to get on and off
  • Easy to wash/washed well/dried quickly
  • Did not leak, however did get too full b.c I didnt put the correct insert in, which is thicker than the extra one i did put in. This is another reason why I would prefer an AIO.
  • Loved the velcro tabs b.c. snaps would take too long with my wiggly PB , and they have a place to stick the velcro to when washing so it doesn't pull on anything else in the wash.
  • Adjustable snaps for the crotch length so it is a ONE SIZE diaper that you can use as baby grows and not have to buy age appropriate sized ones.

Now I really wanna try to order some AIO diapers and maybe a few off ebay to see how they compare to the namebrand ones. Anyone know about that? I am thinking you prob get what you pay for in Cloth Diapers but I'm willing to test that theory unless ya'll already know better?

I don't have kids, but as someone interested in the environment, I'm reading these types of posts with interest. I'd like to learn more about which eco-friendly/cloth diapers work best. Thanks for posting this kind of info.
