I Need Some New Books!

I am really trying to ween myself off of reading junky Gossip Mags and into reading things that are more, hmmm educational or just more uplifting. I am proud to say that I have taken Perez Hilton out of my Google Reader and OFF of Twitter. That took some work but he is on my last nerve and never says anything positive anymore so I did it! I'm done!
Now I have no idea what to read instead. My mom and Aunt recommended this book to me and raved about! Never, not ONCE, did either of them mention it has a sad part. I was on the plane coming home from Tampa Boo Hoo crying and blowing my nose on my shirt after 3 trips to the bathroom with Kleenex. Also, not until half way through it did I realize it was a true story! Anyway it's a great Christian read if you guys are looking for a new book.
Now, what should I read next? I have been reading "Secrets of a Shoe Addict" this week and it is very funny and easy! Sometimes you need that.

I have your basic library here. If you want something that is laugh out loud funny you should start reading the Janet Evanovich 'number' books. Seriously, I had to stop reading them in public b/c laughing out loud in public makes people stare... the first one is '1 for the money'. I have them all, but have given a few out to let people read. Read them in order. There are 15 so far. I can read one book in about 5 hours. Seriously, when one comes out I'm standing at the bookstore door waiting to get in and get it! SOOOOO DAMN FUNNY!!! You should come look through some of my boxes of books.

I am hooked on the Twilight series right now. I know i know... I am not 14 years old, but it is really good. Also, good is another book I am reading right now called the Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner. He is a war correspondent for NPR and got tired of writing sad/depressing stories so in this book he wrote about the happiest places in the world and his adventures as he visits them. Plus he has a very witty sense of humor!

My Mobile best friend's wife recently took on the task of reading the Top 100 Novels of all time... sounds interesting to me, and I might give it a go... although she did say that the #1 of all time, Ulysses, was tough to read at times.... just a thought :) hope all is well !!

I forge the author's name, but a definite is The Lovely Bones. It is about a young girl who is murdered. She is narrating from her point of view after her death. She tells you of events that lead up to it and follows the investigation afterward. It is really a great mystery. Everyone who has read it has loved it.

LOVED Same Kind of Different as Me! Incredible story. If you haven't read Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers you need to. Probably my favorite book ever.

If you like the faith-based reads, The Shack is a good one (I know, EVERYBODY says this one). A great perspective on forgiveness
