Vintage Find Of the Day!

Yesterday, Erik and I found this little beauty at the Salvation Army for $1. It is a 1970 Betty Crocker Recipe Library and has ALL of its cards. Besides the fact that it looks neat, it is also hilarious.

Notice the "Men's Favorites" and "Come for Coffee" Sections
All cards have pictures on the front with the recipe on the back and the foods are.... less than tasty ideas IMO...
But the how to eat healthy card was hysterical. Make sure you all have 4 servings of "enriched" bread a day...
Which makes me wonder what about out current eating fads and habits will be considered silly in 20-30 years?
PS TRY not to be jealous of my totally rad neon yellow nail polish. I bought the cheap brand instead of my faithful OPI and as you can see, that didn't work out well.,

I am pretty sure i saw it first and pretty sure we will not be making any of the recipes.. They are VERY odd.. I guess back in 71 tastes were different.. ;-)

Love you, Sara

This reminds me of the ancient food pyramid from the 70s which advised to eat equal amounts of meat and fat as fruits and vegetables.

I would venture to guess that NONE of these recipes fit into Erik's current health kick!
