Day 2 on the Job

So today was my 2nd day at the Turnip Truck and I have learned some things. Today the biggest thing was "facing" (its a verb).... and I had no idea what it meant to do that. What it means it to make sure all the products on the shelves are pushed forward and symetrical and showing the same front part of each product...
For whatever weird reason, I enjoy this! I like things all lined up and neat looking. Susannah, YOU would LOVE this! I'm sorta thinking you need to quit teaching and work at the grocery store! ha
Another thing that I really like to do is BAG! I will tell you why. Whenever you go to any regular chain grocery store.. if you hand them your own bags, they act like you have lost your mind. THEN they wanna just sling it all in. I like cold stuff in the bag together. Cleaning products separate from food and a bas as full as it can be! Now I can finally teach the world the CORRECT way to bag groceries.. lol
I will say, standing on your feet for hours takes some getting used to, as does NO TEXT MESSAGING.. kind of makes me antsy having no phone on me all day! Erik did manage to bypass that cell phone by calling me on the main line and having them page me! Super embarrassing!
Eventually I will tell you guys about all the neat food products I am discovering.

I always go thru the self checkout when I can so I can bag my own groceries! I have to categorize things in the bags too. I think that is mildly OCD, but it just makes good sense.

Did you know that Dave Cone was the second best bagger in the state of Florida when he was in high school? Yea - who knew there were competitions for those sorts of things.

As you can imagine, we always bag our own groceries. :)

I also have this fascination with bagging my own groceries. It makes me sad when someone runs up to take over. And since I like my bags organized, I try to put them on the belt accordingly so maybe they'll get the hint since it makes so much sense. Are we crazy??? lol

I have a confession also...I place things on the line so they will just go ahead and bag them in that order. Chad things I am a freak for it...there I got that off my chest I feel so much better now. Have a great day!!

Well, I am super impressed with our local Winn Dixie grocery store now! They do not look at you weird when you bring in your own bags, they put all of the cold stuff together, and they fill those bags up with as much as they can.

I am glad that you are more friendly than the people at Wal-Mart of Target! Wal-Mart is evil and makes me feel dirty going in there
