Houston! We have a PROBLEM!

I am progressively going deaf. Not sure why exactly but if I were to give you my expert medical expertise, I would say it's the beginnings of an ear infection, OR there's some water being held hostage in there. Either way, I cant hear very well and its super frustrating. In fact, the ONLY thing, I can still hear very well is the sound of my eldest dog child when he barks incessantly for me to get up in the mornings. Good thing he was blessed with such a high octave.
Tomorrow, assuming I can read through 400 pages of bable on the BCBS site, I will find whatever Doctor is covered and go get this taken care of!
Does anyone know if wearing "earbuds" can cause such things? I have had those small headphones in my ears a lot lately and wonder if they could be the cause?

Earbuds You Should Own!

I would say there is a chance that earbuds could cause an infection...it would make sense that bacteria could lurk on them and end up in your ears. I should probably be deaf by now...mine are so nasty.

I have a strong dislike for ear infections!

Those earbuds are the worst things for your ears, because all the sound is directed straight into your ear. Take them out for a while...you probably feel like you went to a really loud concert. I'll find an article for you. In the meantime, go to the ENT to rule out infection/trapped water.

I have always had major ear probs, and if there is water or fluid in there you better go to the dr ASAP! You DO NOT want your ear drums to rupture! WORST PAIN EVER!!! GO TO THE DR!!!

I agree with everyone else. My ears got blocked and it turned out to be an ear infection.

may also be build up of ear wax. Gross, I know, but it happens to some people. If that's what it is, the MD will just clean it out and I think they give you some drops to out in periodically. Not sure, maybe they just have to be cleaned out every so often...

Also, if you are still using those wax candles for your ears, STOP ASAP! Caroline used them once and got a horrible ear infection. I think she was unable to hear very well, and then she was in tears until she went to the doctor and got some drops.
