Gettin Ready for Bonnarooooo!

We did a trial run today in the backyard to get our Bonnaroo digs ready! It was pretty interesting constructing this thing in the heat. I cant remember the last time I went for real camping and Erik has never been! So PLEASE comment on this with any and all tips! Especially about what kind of food items we should take etc.

Checking to make sure the air matress is gonna work well under pressure! ha

Thanks Dad for letting us borrow the tent! That is KEY! So far all we have had to buy was a $16 battery operated ceiling fan (yes you read that right! a ceiling fan for a tent! it sticks with a magnet to the top of tent).

Ha Ha Ha! You guys are going to have a good time! The Homewood Olympics was an event that Stewart came up with. Basically all these crazy events and you get teams together from different countries and dress up like your country. Joey was from Mexico! There were all these crazy relays and a freestyle gymnastics contest. Basically drunk peeps trying to win sack races. It was a good time though!

Are y'all sure this is something you really want to do????? Laura, this could be another episode like the "7 mile hike"!

These are staples (trust me):
1. Rotating fan or 2
2. Bathroom mat or 2 (helps with not tracking in dirt into tent
3. Lamp if they make battery powered ones

You won't need a comforter just a sheet or two. Makes for less packing.

They actually make ceiling fans for tents? That just made tent-camping even better! Where would I get such a fan? And good advice from the pauleys! I'd never think about a bath mat at the 'door' of the tent!!

I'm not a camper. Not. at. all. I've been once and it is not an experience I want to relive. Though I know you are going to have a blast....lots of good music!

Bonnaroo in 2001 was the hottest I have ever been in my entire life. Period. I recommend having something other than a tent to provide shade; perhaps a tailgating tent. I slept under an open truck tailgate because it was the coolest place I could find! Also, the squirt bottles with fans that blow the spray...an absolute necessity.

Yeah, that was the first tent i have ever put up and i would say i did a remarkable job! ;) The Roo is going to be hot, sweaty and dirty but it is going to be absolutley worth it..

I think if you are a hot natured person, it would probably be beneficial if you even slightly enjoy feeling comfortable to go get some of the stick on patches for injuries that create a "cool" sensation, and stick them on the back of your neck to keep yourself a little cooler. Either that or a plastic bag with ice in it. Sweat, sleep, and me DO NOT mix. But I would probably say screw it for something like this. You'll have a blast!
