Mine was McCain. I just want the US to kick out all illegal immigrants.. Our policy on immigration is just stupid.

I'm with you Erik! Immigration is my #1 issue as far as the election goes! Stop allowing illegals to benefit from government-funded programs (i.e. public school, welfare, etc.), and punish companies that employ illegals, and that would make a huge difference!

My first was Hillary.. of course. But my first for Rep was McCain who I also like cause he is an environmentalist. The environment and healthcare are my #1 issues in this campaign. thanks for posting this. I have been wondering who to vote for...

Mine was Huckabee. Immigration in this country is crazy. When I worked with the amigos at Castone, most of them would get fake ss cards in Columbus. They were only 15 or 16 years old, even though the drivers license said they were much older. Somehow they were able to claim 9 or more dependants. They only had about $5 to $10 a week taken out of their checks for taxes while I was taking it in the rear from the government. Also, I am tired of our OWN countrymen taking advantage of the welfare system. Welfare used to be a bridge to help people get by between jobs. Now, it is just a joke. Why don't we make these lazy excuses for humans take responsibility for their actions? I guess I need to knock up my wife about 10 times and then I can gain 614 lbs and put six refrigerators in my front yard. Who's living the dream now? Through our generosity we have created an evil, lazy demon. That is why I don't give people money when they come up to me on the street and ask for it. If you have given up on yourself, then why should I believe that you will do the right thing with my donation? Oh, and let's create a government run healthcare system, it worked out well in Europe, right? Their teeth are horrendous. Nuff said.

I agree with everyone's comments about what should be important, but we MUST get our troops out of Iraq! That is first and foremost. Why are we there anyway???? Maybe to make "big" George some money??? I think that No Child Left Behind really needs the focus for the candidates (we're ranked 29th in the world only to lead Mexico!) and GET RID OF THIS STUPID LAW! For example: (First you need background knowledge: I am a teacher and teach in a school that has about 1/4 of our students are Hispanic. I am sure that most are illegal and their momma's are coming to the US just to have babies so they (the babies) can be citizens and the US won't kick them out of the country...this is beside my point). Lets say that I have a Hispanic student in my class, fresh from Mexico and can not speak ANY ENGLISH. Well, according to NCLB, this child will be tested at the end of the school year on the SAT test (which is in ENGLISH). Do you think this child will be able to understand this test??? Do you think this child will score high on this test? No, therefore this child's test scores will be under my name b/c I am their teacher and thus, makes me look like I am a bad teacher and that I am not doing my job. Sorry to rant and rave...I am almost finished! If governmental officials would actually ask educators for their opinions and follow RESEARCH, they would know that it takes a non-English speaking child 5 years to become fluent in SPEAKING English. It takes about 8-10 years for a child to become fluent in WRITING English. Since research has proven this, why does the child fresh from Mexico have to take the SATs? This is NCLB. We, educators, call this No School Left Standing! Thanks for listening!

i loved this match thingy...although, I guess my views have changed a little. I'm a registered Dem, but my match was McCain..wow. I've realized after having a baby I'm way more conservative than I used to be. I guess I need to change my voter registration to republican?

My match was McCain! Weird because I thought I was mostly democratic.

Anyone watch the Rep. debate from south Caroline last night? Everyone on here seems to be talking a lot about immigration. I think Reps and Dems alike are tired of feeling taken advantage of by illegals. I agreed with what Huckabee said last night that the first thing that needs to be done is to secure the border. If we don't do this, there is no point in initializing any sort of plan to aid these people into getting onto their feet or getting the hell out of here. This is a difficult issue for me because I believe in basic human rights, but am sick to death of hearing stories like Kyle's about illegals taking advantage of the situation. But here's the thing: If you were in their situation, wouldn't you do the same damn thing? I mean maybe not claim 9 and 10 dependents but jump the border for a better life? I am sure I would. I can tell you from first hand experience as the wife of an legal alien trying to come to this country legally, that the US govt does not make it easy, quick, or cheap to do this. It is going to cost us over $2500.00 to just submit his paperwork and could take 1.5 years... something needs to be done to revamp the system, although I am not sure what. you cannot do away with immigration completely.. you may hate me for saying this but allowing people like Rohit to come here is advantageous to the American economy, especially in the technology sector. I mean why do you think GM and Ford are making better cars now? It's not cause OUR education system is any better.
